About

Hi, I’m Tim. At the age of 7 my grandfather put a rugby ball in my hands, and over 30 years later I’m still going strong (ish). This is the site where I share my passion for rugby playing, coaching and watching.

Originally I played for my local Rugby club from Under 8s through to first team level at level 4 of the league system. I also represented my couty and the Midlands region but quite honestly was never good enough to ‘make it’ as such but loved being involved with the rugby club environments wherever I have lived.

Currently I am living in Asia and part of an expat rugby club which is great that even at my age of 41 I can still play occasionally and feel like a part of a rugby squad/team environment.

Of course , the real heros are the administration staff, referees, coaches, team managers and parents that provide such a great enviroment for so many to enjoy their rugby.

The aim of this site is simple, to provide basic ‘how to’ type information to encourage participation at all levels of the game. I know first hand that the game can make a real difference to people’s lives by providing new goals, aspirations and a supportive social network to live life through.

Why the name RugbyRoar.com?

Well, I’m a massive fan of the British and Irish Lions and the colour scheme and branding is borrowed from that great team.

Anyway, enjoy the site. I hope you find it useful.

Tim James
